Listen… fishing is basically a family religion in my house. My husband’s obsessed, my son’s been holding a pole since toddlerhood, and I grew up on Toledo Bend. And yes, we really do have 13 fish tanks.
In my studio sits a single tank with one sassy blue Gill named Lips. She watches me paint like she’s judging my brush strokes, and honestly, she became the muse for this whole piece.
Bubbles the Fish is my imagined character — part whimsy, part memory, part homage to the aquatic chaos we happily live in.
